PhotoShoot Awards Nude 2019

It is totally surreal to be chosen as the overall winner of PhotoShoot Awards Nude 2019 – with two category awards (1st) and two silver finalist awards plus a couple of ‘finalist’ and ‘merit’ images.
The main focus of the competition was to ‘capture the emotion’.
My own emotions in this moment is hard to express. I am so grateful and honored! Huge thanks to the models Ivory Flame, Charlotte Blanco, my Greek friends, FawnyaModel, Liv Spencer and Nora who shared their creativity with me.
Congrats to all finalists and merit winners where I recognize the names of so many well known great photographers.

Norwegian Champion in Photography 2017

For the second year in a row …
I have been awarded ‘Norwegian Champion in photography’ by the association of Norwegian photo clubs (Norsk Selskap for Fotografi, NSFF)! It is such a huge honor to receive this award, with so many amazing works submitted from so many talented photographers whom I highly admire.

The competition for the Norwegian Champion is organized as two separate rounds, one in the spring and one in the autumn. For each round, twelve images can be submitted to various categories, and each image is judged individually. Based on the results, a total score is calculated and the one with the highest score is awarded the belated title as Norwegian Champion.

I got 1 gold and 1 silver medal as well as 6 accepted images in the first round, and 1 gold medal and 6 accepted images in the second round. The images were submitted into different themes, both as prints and as projected digital images. The jury teams were from Norway, England and Greece.

Most of my images are portraits or nudes created in creative collaboration with some very talented models. I am most grateful for their contributions. They are in random order; Elle Beth, Heather May Corvid, Ivory Flame, Lulu Lockhart, Malena, Mischkah, Rebecca Tun and various dancers from St. Petersburg who I met through a workshop organized by NORDPhotography. Thank you everyone!

4th Cork International Salon of Photography 2016

Juhuu!
My very first medal from Ireland, the chairman’s award overall for salon; an IPF SILVER medal for for the image “Tropical feeling” in the creative theme.
In addition I got six acceptances for other images from a total of 24 entered.
I feel very pleased as this was achieved without the use of any composite technique, any textured layers or heavy face skin retouching! Freaking plain natural images! ( Notice though, I do appreciate these kind of techniques when used nicely and with care 😮 )

Norgesmester 2016

Norwegian Champion 2016 🙂

In end of May I got the message I had been awarded ‘Norwegian Champion in photography’ 2016 by the association of Norwegian photo clubs (Norsk Selskap for Fotografi, NSFF). It is a great honor to achieve this recognition since the submitted works holds a very high standard, and there are many much-respected fine photographers on the list. In the previous years I have not been even close to the very top of this list.

The ‘Norwegian Champion’-title was gained after submitting 12 images into two separate rounds of judgments. In the autumn 2015 round, ten of twelve images were awarded or accepted and accordingly in the spring 2016 round, eight of twelve images were awarded or accepted. Based on the results, a total score was calculated, and my score was the highest, both in total and for each round separately 🙂 The images were submitted under different themes, both as prints and as projected digital images. The juries were from Norway, Denmark, England, Sweden and Finland.

Most of my images are portraits or nudes created in cooperation with various models. They are; Ivory Flame, Lulu Lockhart, Naiya, Julia, Ekaterina and Ola and finally one who wishes not to be named (underwater model). I hereby thank you all!

As one will notice, several of the images were created together with the talented, experienced and awesome Ivory Flame. In particular there were two very productive and creative days early 2015 in Nottingham and Manchester, and there are also even a couple from Norway in September, later the same year. See Ivory Flame’s own blogs Open Space & Brick Walls (Nottingham) and In the Bath House (Manchester).

For the interested reader who also participates in contests, it is worth mentioning that the judges selections are sooo… different! As an example, two of the images submitted in the autumn were resubmitted in the spring round. One of these images had been rejected (“Dancing with the tide”) and the other (“Nude in decaying room”) had been accepted “only” during the first round. Since I was slightly disappointed with the result for these, in my opinion very good images, I decided to resubmit them for a second chance in the spring round. (It is allowed to resubmit an image if it is not awarded in an earlier round.) The first image now earned an “honorable mention” and the other was awarded a Gold medal(!) on its second attempt!

FIAP gold medal in 25. Trierenberg Super Circuit

Whooo… so, then it has happened 🙂 The image “Under the ferns” was awarded a FIAP gold medal in 25. Trierenberg super circuit in Austria 🙂 “The world’s largest photo salon. It is by far the largest annual salon of photography on the globe.”

Among the many 10.000s of images submitted, my image was among the few selected for a FIAP gold medal, so happy! In addition I got 32 of 32 possible acceptances for my 8 prints and 12 of 16 possible acceptances for my 4 digital images submitted. My third and best attempt in the Trierenberg super circuit.

FIAP Blue badge

My first FIAP Blue badge! Juhuu 🙂 In the 1st Circular exhibition of photography “NSAPK CIRCUIT 2016” with two juries in Serbia and two juries in Montenegro I was awarded the FIAP Blue Badge for the best author from the Kotor jury in Montenegro. All 16 images entered were accepted by the jury and one of them, “Tip of the chair”, even got a gold medal and two of them, “Nude in decaying room” and “Naiya curved spine”, got honorable mentions. My total result from the whole circuit with four juries was 57 of 64 possible acceptances including three gold medals, one silver medal and six honorable mentions. Here are the 16 images 🙂
Thank you to the models Ivory Flame, Naiya, Julia, Mischkah og Julie B.!

Bladderwrack

Bladderwrack in the shoreline

From shooting with Ivory Flame in the shoreline in Norway. I really like how the colour of her hair blend with the seaweed as well as the form of the body and the lines in the cliff. September 2015.

Great results from DPW Summer Circuit 2015

Unbelievable results from DPW (Digital Photo World) Summer Circuit 2015 in Serbia and Montenegro! It looks like I have been fortunate to archive a total of 12 awards 🙂 spread on 5 of the 16 images I entered in the 4-salon circuit. All images were judged by 4 juries, two in Serbia and two in Montenegro. The awarded images are shown below.

All together the result were 3 gold medals, 2 silver medals, 4 bronze medals and 3 HMs (‘honorable mentions’). Tip of the chair: Silver + Bronze + 2 x HM, Nude in decaying room: Gold + 3 x Bronze, Naiya curved spine: Silver, Turkish bath: 2 x Gold, Attic light dream: HM. Juhuuu…….
